New Year, Same Me
New year, same me, same goals. I've never been one for resolutions. When I decide to do something, I do start the journey immediately without waiting for a milestone date. 2023 was a year of change for me. I finally reduced my breast size and had liposuction. It was the first year that I started noticing the signs of age and had to seek out new ways to treat my skin and body. I'm not afraid of aging, but I'd prefer to do it gracefully. I found some amazing products in all categories that I'm bringing into the New Year and want to share a few of them with you.
The SOTOMethod: "The SotoMethod is a mix of cardio and sculpting movements designed to maximize burn and efficiently deliver a full-body workout. SOTO stands for Sixty on. Ten on. We fire up each muscle group with a 60-second isometric hold; then we sustain that burn through a series of 10 dynamic movements." I met SOTO's founder, Hilary, while launching MedModel in 2022. She's an amazing force of positivity. SOTO has made my body stronger than it's ever been. The best part is that the classes are anywhere from 5 minutes to 45 minutes so you can layer them into your life no matter how crazy your day gets.
Jones Road Miracle Balm: The name says it all. This product is easy to apply and provides a beautiful glow. It's the anti-make-up make-up.
Epionce Intense Defense Serum: A proprietary blend of vitamins that visibly reduces signs of aging. This serum is light weight and easy to apply. It's also half the cost of other anti-aging serums on the market. I switched from TNS Essential Serum to this earlier this year and didn't notice any change in the health of my skin.
Rose Water: A sneaky little product. Rose water has been used as an anti-inflammatory for ages. I started to have eczema on the corners of my eyes and was using a steroid cream that was irritating in other ways. A daily spritz of rose water and a quartz gua sha mushroom massage on my eyelids each morning has alleviated most of my symptoms. I only have to use the steroid cream every 6 months. This is my favorite brand, but rose water is also easy to make at home!
SkinMedica Scar Gel: Whether you're having surgery or just a nasty cut this product is a must have for the medicine cabinet. It's the only scar gel that treats the symptoms of healing and the process. When the body heals it wants to produce short strands of collagen to heal faster. This product encourages the body to create long strands of collagen for flatter scars. I used this immediately after surgery and am amazed at how much it has helped my healing process.
Julie Louis Dreyfus’ Podcast, Wiser Than Me: Julia interviews some amazing older women (Jane Fonda, Carol Burnett, & Isabel Allende to name a few) and picks their brains on what they’ve learned while living long lives as women. These interviews are hilarious, poignant, informative. You can’t help but learn from these amazing women and bring some of their insights into your own life.
I'd love to hear what products and services you're bringing into the new year! Feel free to share in the comments below. Happy 2024!
