The MedModel community has grown over the past couple of months. It's amazing what any kind of advertising will do. 😉 I thought I'd take the time to reintroduce myself and the 'why' behind the company. Before MedModel, I worked in medical aesthetics sales for about a decade. I sold everything from physician grade make-up for post surgical camouflage to Botox Cosmetic across the United States. I love this work but had to 'retire' a few years ago when my husband I and I decided to start splitting time between two states.
During my time in medical aesthetic sales I hosted a lot of training sessions for injectors. Training sessions are hosted by expert injectors to teach injectors new skill sets, safety practices, and bring new injectors into the industry. Trainee injectors can be brand new or experts who are looking to understand a new product or technique. The most amazing part? These treatments are largely free for the model! It's challenging to find models for all sorts of reasons…injectors are traveling to a city where they don't know anyone or they need a model with specific facial features.
MedModel was born from my frustration for my injector's struggle to find appropriate models. I knew that there are so many people who want to try medical aesthetics, but don't know where to start or find the price point too high. MedModel gives our community access to some of the best injectors in the United States without the price barrier. We work with providers who train in safe environments and deliver beautiful results. Our YouTube channel has a few videos that demonstrate what a real training looks like. You can view it here.
These are some of our commonly asked questions. You can also reach out to us directly at info@medmodel.com if you have something else you're curious about! We're looking forward to getting you treated soon!
What is the likelihood of me being chosen?
Responsiveness is the best way to be chosen. MedModel sends out text messages when we have a student looking for a model. If you respond to the message quickly your name will be at the top of the list. After you let us know you're available, we'll have the injector reach out directly. You also need to respond to them! This is the most important part.
How long will the training take?
Trainings can be anywhere from 1 to 4 hours. Occasionally there are trainings that last for the full day. The injector will communicate all of this with you beforehand.
Who will be injecting me?
Trainings often have many people watching the trainee injecting. Models are injected by the trainee under supervision of an expert injector. Sometimes the expert will take the needle and inject themselves.
How often can I be treated?
It depends on what treatment you receive and where. MedModel connects models to the providers. Providers will ask for photos to ensure the model is a good fit for the training.
What is the downtime?
Injectable treatments are still medical treatments. The most common side effects are bruising, redness at the injection site, and swelling. We recommend receiving any treatments at least two weeks before major events.
What treatments does MedModel recruit for?
Currently we're recruiting for neuromodulator (Botox) and facial fillers, pigmentation laser, laser hair removal, and esthetician services. We mostly receive requests for neuromodulator and facial filler models.
Does it hurt?
These are injections so there can be mild pain at the injection site. Typically, injectors utilize topical numbing to help with any discomfort. Many facial fillers also contain lidocaine to numb as the injectors works.
